Alison Kramer-Kuhn

Dr. Kramer-Kuhn is a licensed psychologist with prior experience working for nonprofit organizations in Southeast Washington DC, Montgomery County, MD, and East Harlem, NY. She has managed staff and data for federal contracts, developed and evaluated programs, and raised over $1 million dollars in grants and donations. 

Dr. Kramer-Kuhn earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in child and adolescent psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her predoctoral internship at VCU Medical Center and postdoctoral work at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Urban Youth Trauma Center and at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters’ Child Abuse Program in Norfolk, VA. She has worked with children and families since 2007 in outpatient, acute inpatient, medical, and child advocacy center settings. Dr. Kramer-Kuhn is currently serving as a professorial lecturer at The George Washington University.

Dr. Kramer-Kuhn is an individual affiliate member of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). She has published scholarly research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences. Her research interests include the prevention of behavior problems and the promotion of social and emotional competencies in children, with an emphasis on violence prevention and trauma. She has been qualified in court as an expert in the area of child clinical psychology.

Why TRUE: 

 

I'm extremely honored to serve TRUE Center as the next Board Chair. We have big goals for increasing the breadth and impact of our services over the course of this year, and I'm excited to help lead the way. This is a critical time in our organization's development. I'm confident that with help from supporters and partners, we can build a sustainable organization to serve the Greater DC Community for years to come.
